How to Install Cane Webbing: A Step-by-Step Guide
Installing cane webbing is a rewarding craft. Here's our complete guide. ## Tools needed - Cane webbing sheet - Spline (groove cane) - Wedge tool - Soaking tub - Sharp knife ## Step 1: Soak the webbing Submerge the cane webbing in warm water for 30 minutes. This makes it flexible and prevents cracking. ## Step 2: Cut to size Leave 2cm overhang on each side. ## Step 3: Press into groove Use the wedge tool to press the webbing into the groove around the frame opening. ## Step 4: Install spline Press the spline into the groove on top of the webbing to lock it in place. ## Step 5: Trim and finish Trim excess cane with a sharp knife. Allow to dry completely before use.
